In terms of economics, more than a century ago, under the view of the French Chamber of Commerce - Da Nang Industry (Indochinese Governor-General established on May 4th, 1897, dissolved in 1935) in the period of French colonization, a document reporting the meeting on April 24th, 1904 was sent to the Governor-General of Indochina at that time recorded “... As we have said, Da Nang is the most beautiful port in Indochina. Da Nang is to Ha Noi what the city of Marseille is for Paris ...”; Another document in the book Taboulet, Georges Episode 1 Lagefte Francaisse en Indochine (p. 364) of France, wrote "... British writers did not hesitate to call Da Nang the Asian GIBRALTAR" (Gibraltar is a city of mercy. Over many years of historical ups and downs, today Da Nang has transformed like Cinderella into the beautiful princess with a new look, as indicated in the song “Da Nang human love”.
Many international guests, who have travelled to many places around the world, when they came to Da Nang, commented: "Very few cities around the world have such beautiful scenery and diversity as Da Nang. Although the area and population are quite modest (1283.42 km2, population about 1 million people), Da Nang City has all the conditions: plains, sea, river, mountains. Da Nang has two rivers; to the west is the Cu De as a borderline of the Hai Van Mountain, and then the Han River is like a beautiful stream of silk floating across the city. If you come to Da Nang on hot summer days, you can climb Hai Van Mountain, Son Tra Mountain, Ngu Hanh Son Mountain or spend the night on My Khe Beach - one of the six beaches voted and ranked as the most beautiful beaches on the planet and once you arrive in Da Nang, you cannot miss the chance to experience the scenic road to the top of Ba Na with the longest cable car in Viet Nam to enjoy the cool temperate climate.
